Maxx Passion

creator | editor | dancer

Maxx Passion is a dance artist based in NYC. She performed with Edisa Weeks/Delirious Dances, and the Artichoke Dance Company, and was an artist in residence at OMI Dance International, and CAMAC Center D'Art in France. She performs and co-produces dance work with UnderOneDances, where they explore ways to engage an audience before, during and after the performance; she presented a paper on this topic at the Society of Dance History Scholar’s conference in Trondheim, Norway. Maxx received her BFA from the University of the Arts, and her MFA from the University of Michigan where she was the recipient of the Rackham Merit Fellowship.

Born in the Conch Republic of Key West, raised in the enclave of Brattleboro, Vermont, and striving to be as interesting as my name makes me out to be. I am a writer, editor, and champion of all things improvisation. Two things I love in equal measure; the cool precision of editing (words, video, movement) and the freedom of improvisation (comedy, cooking, dance). There's always room for a haiku.
